Bear Lake Pics and Recent Events

So here are some pictures from Bear Lake. Mark's family has a time share there so we went and enjoyed Conference weekend there. Too bad Mark hit a deer there the first morning and our 4 Runner would drive. We had to have it towed to a repair shop in Logan. Thank goodness Mark wasn't hurt and that we have insurance. It also gave me a good excuse to go see my friend Emily who moved to Logan a few months ago.
While at he condo we spent time with Mark's family and had a great time just relaxing. I had never been to Bear Lake before so I was amazed at how pretty it was. It also snowed for the first time while we were there.
This weekend we are excited because we are blessing Jake and we have a ton of family coming into town. We would love to see any of you friends there if you are able to make it. Our church is at 11 and we are eating at 2 at our house.

How Could our Lives get this Complicated?

So to add to the stress of our lives right now... Daniel has the Swine Flu. Yep, the day Mark was going to go hunting we took Daniel to the Dr. expecting like an ear infection or something. No he has the flu. So Jake and I (ash) are staying with my parents for the next week while Mark and Daniel are quarantined in our house. They said not to take him anywhere for the next 8-10 days! Other than the fever he really isn't too miserable though so it could be a lot worse. We have to be ultra above and beyond careful though so that Jake doesn't get sick. Any friends in the Idaho area be careful!!! Wash wash wash! This is not fun!

Baby Pictures

So I look a little bit better in this picture than I did when I had Daniel so I thought I would post it. This was just the next morning after the c-section which was at 11:50pm. And incase you were wondering I have a pack of ice on my neck because I was so blasted hot!

We didn't have a camera with use when we went to the hospital so we didn't take any pictures until Mark mom came. Thanks for the rescue Susan!!!

Daniel's first picture with Jake where he didn't scream and run away!

Jake Gordon Babcock 8lbs 20.5 in. 9/14/09 11:50pm

So Jake has arrived. Last Monday, the 14th, I was feeling sick with a headache and cough and nastiness. So I went into my OBGYN and I saw the PA who was going to put me on some antibiotics and send me home but I complained that my back was hurting so he called in the Dr. to pop my back and when the Dr. came in he couldn't get it to pop and I was so uncomfortable. That is when he asked if I was having contractions and I said "uh...I dunno know" so he sent me to the hospital for a Labor check. When we got there they hooked me up to the machines and found that Jake's heart rate was not looking good. It was way too high and didn't fluctuate enough so they immediately put me on antibiotics and fluid to try to make him better and after a few hours it worked but I was still having irregular contractions and my previous incision was hurting so they decided to give me a c-section to prevent a possible rupture. That is how our day went and how we got our little Jake. Amazingly enough I only was in the hospital for 3 days and I am doing better than I thought I would. I'll put some pictures up later but Blogger won't let me do it right now.

We Have A Name!!!

But we're not telling!

Mark and I finally decided on a name for Howard (womb name). We have had a list for a while but until recently we didn't really want to settle on any of them. We still could change our minds last minute so we will wait to tell everyone until he is here. Until then here are some more pictures from my sister's wedding...I am still waiting for pictures from Mark's brother's wedding.

Delivery Plans...

So I don't have a new official due date but we will do a c-section on or about the 23rd of Sept. if he hasn't come by then. So pray for us that our little Howard (that is his womb name) will decide to come before then and that I don't have do end up having a c-section. (In my dreams right?) Anyways, all the wedding and mission stuff is over with as of today. My brother went into the MTC today and things should start to slow down. I couldn't help but post this picture of him at my sister's wedding last weekend... this is totally his funny personality that I will miss. So with all this free time we have now anyone up for a movie night or anything?

We should really decide on a name...

Trenton Lee Babcock?.... our little guy was 3lbs 11 oz. 2 weeks ago when we had this ultra sound. Everything looks great and I go back tomorrow and hopefully we will get more details on when I'll have him.

New Due Date?

So I went to my appointment on Monday and while there the PA measured me and I am still 2 weeks ahead, so I asked if I could get an ultra sound (I'll scan those pictures ASAP) to check the due date and I am measuring 11 days early according to the ultra-sound. Potentially then my due date could be September 19th and I could be having a baby by early September if they induce me early so I can try for a VBAC. All these ifs are making my head spin. Oh well, hopefully our next appointment with the doctor in 2 weeks we will find out more delivery details. Stay tuned...

Update

So if we thought our summer would be boring and easy since Mark is able to work from home then we were wrong!!! We have been so busy with family reunions and 2 weddings. Mark's brother Tim is getting married to a great girl... Ariel, and my sister is marrying a guy named Justin that has been her friend (and our families are still friends) since they were like both 15 (sweet isn't it?). Oh and they are getting married a week apart from each other. So apart from getting ready for our little guy to make his appearance (I think he will be born mid Sept.) we are also running around attending events for our siblings.
July- 4 birthdays, Conner's endowments, Baby's room (we want it ready before we don't have time with all the wedding stuff)
August- Corinne's bridal shower in Pocatello, 3 birthdays, Tim's wedding in Washington, Corinne's endowments & wedding in Rexburg, Conner's farewell and mission
September-BABY!!!
Ahhhh! I love being busy though and it will make time go by faster. We couldn't be happier for our siblings. Oh and I love all of my friends but I am sorry I am not very social lately... busy.

Have I mentioned that the Flu Stinks?

Ugh! I got it, luckily Mark had some anti-nausea pills left over but man heart burn can kill too! I got it really bad because I am prego and I had been throwing up stomach acids all day. But it is done and over with! I am back to my usual... 75%, Mark is back to his 90% and Daniel is back to his 156.5% energy levels (hows that for a random but true number?). Anyways we are on our way to SLC again this week because my brother is graduating and Mark has some work stuff to do. Can't wait to be distracted! I got to go to work today at the gym and get some stuff done and if was so nice to get out of this "man house". I love my boys but I need to chat with girls every once in a while too! So...Girls' Night next week ladies? I am very serious. How about Wednesday? (Let me know what you think)
Hope all is well with you, thanks for all of your Flu sympathy...I hope nobody else gets the nasty bug.
I was so glad to hear that people approve of Tallahassee as a mission. It is going to be hard to send my brother off while I am so over emotional right now. Thanks! It helps to know he's not going somewhere scary.

Oh I said I would try to have some good news this time...
Daniel is Binki Free!!!! We "broke" it last Monday in front of him because he had bitten a hole in it and he thinks that is gross, so instead of getting him a different one I took some scissors and cut the nipple off in front of him and told him it was broken and gave it back to him. He got this look like..."darn it" but now he understands that it isn't a big deal and he doesn't need it. There, I actually accomplished both New Years Resolutions before the year was half way over, hah! How's that for being positive?

Busy, Busy and...Sick, Sick

Two weeks ago I got Strep Throat and was feeling pretty crumby, then last week Mark got sick and couldn't stop throwing up because he was dehydrated and had donated blood. I ended up taking him into the ER Monday morning at 1 am and they had to give him fluids and anti-nausia. It took him about 4 more days to feel back to normal. Now this week we went to the Splash Park in Rexburg and Daniel was being really whiney and just wanted me to hold him. Sure enough after being there for about an hour trying to cheer him up... he puked. I should mention that I cannot handle puke right now. Mark puked while we were driving home last week and I pulled over in-time but then after I smelled and heard it I lost my cookies out the driver's side door. So needless to say I handed Daniel over to Mark this afternoon because I just can't take it! Fun huh?
So in between all these fun going-ons we drove a moving van down to my parents rental house in SLC and helped load it up, finished some work on Mark's parents deck in SLC(with the help of our wonderful brothers, Mark built his parents a new deck a few weeks ago) then drove back that night and helped them unload it here in Rigby the next day. Memorial Day was spent in Pocatello and that was fun, and tomorrow my parents are bringing up hopefully the last load of their stuff and we will help them unload it on Saturday. Wow. Did you get all that? So pray for me that I will not get this flu bug, the last time I got the flu was when I was prego with Daniel and I can tell you that is about the worst thing ever!!!
On a good note!....My younger brother, Conner received his mission call today and he is going to the Tallahassee, Florida mission in August. Yipppeee! We are so proud of him. I was hoping he would be around to see our baby before he left and maybe even help bless him, but I am just too happy for Conner right now to wish anything more. Well hopefully my next post will be a little more happy. Sorry.

Good News and Bad News

So most of you have heard that we are having another boy! That is our good news... everything is looking good, I am feeling better (other than allergies ugh!) and now we are 1/2 way done with the pregnancy! Oh and I am the size of a small bus, by the end of this pregnancy I will be the size of a large one!
The bad news however is that Mark lost his job a couple of weeks ago. His company was not doing very well and then they just tanked. About 3/4 of the employees were laid off and Mark was one of them. That's what you get for being the last one hired! Anyways... we are currently looking for new employment, we have had a few good leads already and Mark has been able to apply for jobs and do handyman work for friends and family that is bringing in enough to get by on. Also we get to keep our insurance so we don't have to worry about paying for our baby when he comes so all in all it could be worse!
But if any of you have extra time in your prayers (I know a lot of us need them right now) if you would remember us we would be grateful. We can't help but feel gratitude at a time like this when we have so many people there for us and giving us encouragement. The Lord has prepared us for this challenge and I know we will come out on top.

*****Anniversary*****

So the 23rd is our anniversary, along with about 300 other couples at BYU-I.... but we are excited to celebrate the 4 years that we have been married. It is hard to believe that we have know each other for almost 5 years and that we are already overwhelmed with blessings. Anyone who says marriage is easy is crazy or a push-over, but marriage is worth it. I had a crazy morning trying to get some things done in Rexburg and I wasn't so happy about carting Daniel along, but he was so fun to talk to and he is getting better at communicating which makes both of us happy! I love my boys and I love the life that we have worked hard at creating for our family. We can't wait to welcome our second child but we are pretty happy right now too. I am so proud of Daniel, my little helper and comic relief... even though it may seem like he is the constant sore in my side! And I am also proud of Mark, for the man he is, the man he is becoming and the Dad he wants to be. I am looking forward to this next year and at accomplishing new goals alongside Mark. We have not intending to make each other better people but I believe that the Lord has guided us and given us strength to overcome trials that have improved us as people regardless of the struggle. Maturity has been thrust upon us no matter how hard we struggled against it. I just want to say thank you to all of our friends and family who have been there to babysit, to visit with, to help us move and to support us. I also want to say thank you to Mark and Daniel for making my life meaningful and interesting. I love you.

Boy or Girl?

Just so you all know we will find out what we are having on May 4th! We had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and everything is looking good I just have low blood pressure so my body just needs to play a little catch-up but we are doin well and can't wait to find out what we are having. Any guesses?...honestly we would love another boy but it would be fun to experience having a girl. Also we are planning on attempting a vbac. Any suggestions? I have heard horror stories and good happy endings... so we are going to pray about it and decide later but we value the opinions of our friends and family.

FISHING!!!

We are getting excited for this years fishing season so I thought I would post a few of my favorite pictures of our fishing quests.

I am so tired!

Do you ever have those times where you just want to sleep all day? That is how I feel 24/7! I am constantly not exciting enough for Daniel who just wants to wrestle, play baseball and run outside. I have my second Dr. appointment today so hopefully he can give me some energy info! Then after today I get to schedule my ultrasound!!! Things I will not miss when we have the baby and I am no longer pregnant....
1-low energy level
2-peeing in the middle of the night
3-not fitting into my underwear and clothes
4-sleeping on my back or side all the time
5-acne!!!...oh wait... that's right... I'll have that for the rest of my life.
I am almost 4 months now...well next week I will be. Time flies by with your second! That is one thing I have to look forward to. Any volunteers to come live with me and be my helper when this baby is born? HAHAHA....Just kidding. My parents are moving back to Rigby next month so I will have help, just not the middle of the night kind unless you count Mark. He has been getting up with Daniel every night since the first month of my pregnancy...lucky me! Now I just need to start slipping him pills so he can lactate and feed the baby too! hahaha, yuck... I just grossed myself out!

Hair Cut!!! and so much more...

So this weekend is going to be jammed pack full of fun stuff. #1 we get to go to Mark's brother's mission farewell down in Salt Lake. We are so proud of our Drew! He is going to New Zealand, Chinese speaking! Best of luck to him!!! #2 we get to see Mark's sister Sarah and one of her twins, Will. It will be the first time seeing them since they were born and now the twins are about 5 mo. old! So excited! #3 we are going to Mark's brother's play "All Shook Up" in Orem... I love plays. #4 I get my hair cut and colored!!! I am going to do something different this time so be prepared for shorter and more glamorous. #5 I always love seeing my fam... can't wait.

Tagged!!?

So my sister-in-law tagged me to post my 6th picture of my 6th folder and explain it. I'm not exactly what a folder is and I haven't posted too many pictures so instead I thought I would remind everyone of the post I made in March 2008 of Potato skiing. You should go check it out, needless to say we don't have time for fun things like that anymore but who knows...

Sandlot

I don't know how many of you have seen "Sandlot" but it is a hillarious movie about these kids trying to get a ball signed by Babe Ruth back from over a fence. It is Daniel's new favorite. And by that I mean he now sleeps with a dog, screams like the kids, throws a ball like a pitcher, wears a ball cap and carries a mit and ball around everywhere. And that is just to name a few! We never know what that kid will absorb next. Kids are like spunges right? So far Daniel's top 5 movie list is...

Sandlot

Winnie the Pooh

Cars

Shrek

101 Dalmations

New Photos!

So I haven't been able to upload pictures lately from my computer to our blog so I am happy to have these on here! The first picture I look pretty bad in because I wasn't feeling good that day, we are at Cabella's, the 2nd one is Daniel huggin both Mark and I (which he thinks is hillarious) at Olive Garden, then did you guys know I am a model? I am shown here as Miss December! haha... We went to a cabin in Island Park for New Years and we had a blast ridding the snow mobiles but Daniel got really sick so it wasn't a happy ending. And lastly there is Daniel here with Mark's little brothers eatting dinner, I think it was nachos so we took all the boy's white shirts off so they didn't become spotted. They look related right?

Potty Time!

So my New Year's Resolutions were to have Daniel get rid of his binki and to have him be potty trained. Now that we are expecting again I have decided that potty training is priority #1!!! And this week it worked! Daniel is now going to the bathroom all day! He hates it when he even pee's just a little bit and his underwear gets wet. Yes!!!! The true test will come when we take him public places because as of yet he hasn't left the house with underwear on. I am procrastinating that one. Wish us luck!

Mark's B-day!

We are going to have a party for Mark on Tuesday the 17th at 6:30. I'm telling people they don't have to bring a gift, we just want our friends over and have a good time. Dinner, cake, ice cream and games!!! Hope to see some of you there! Mark is going to be the big 26! Come celebrate with us!

Yes a Baby!

So we were not exactly planning to have a new little one but we found out last month that we are expecting our second child. My due date should be some time in September, but since my first appointment isn't for 3 more weeks then I am not exactly sure. So we are not too far along but I figure that we could announce anyways. We told our families by putting a shirt on Daniel that said... I'm going to be a big brother! Then we waited to see who would notice first! The funny thing is that at the beginning of January I went shopping to Old Navy and bought a ton of clothes for $1 ea. so I didn't try anything on, I just looked at the size and threw it in the cart. Well when I got home I started trying on the things I bought to show Mark and I tried on this pair of cute white shorts. They were huge! I couldn't figure out why, then Mark asked if there was elastic on the waist, sure enough I bought maternity pants by accident but turns out they are going to come in handy! I am going to be huge pregnant all summer long! yea!

Hope it's warmer in Salt Lake...

Daniel and I are off to Salt Lake City for 10 days! We are going down to watch Mark's little brothers and sisters while his parents go on a long deserved cruise! We are looking forward to spending time with family and hopefully a few friends. Saturday we are going to the Mayan restuarant to celebrate my birthday and then Mark heads back here to work Mon-Friday. And then back down to pick us up the next weekend. We can't wait, this will be our longest trip over at the Babcocks and I'm sure the kids will get sick of me but it will be nice for Daniel to have kids to play with every day. We'll be taking lots of pictures and I will keep bloging so... to be continued...

Today....

So how many things can go wrong in one day? Apparently many...it started at 12:01am when Daniel finally went to bed for the night, or so I thought. He woke up at 4 and took my place in bed so I slept on the couch. Then he woke up for good at 7, unloaded a box of cereal onto the floor, got into some painting stuff (I caught him before it was too late), got into my make-up, threw toy cars into the bath (while I was in it!!!), threw a tantrum at the gymnastics and almost jump off the tramp 5 ft down into the pit (I caught him there too), hit every kid in the McDonald's play place, screamed all through Kmart and Les Schwab (we broke a wheel on our car on our way out to run errands-ugh! and we were there for 1.5 hrs), scattered a box of checks, unloaded every toy in his closet and didn't play with any of them, and finally he almost took a trip down the stairs in his ride on car (once again... mommy saves the day!) And these were only a few of his tasks he performed today, joy! I read my friend Tiffani's blog and it sounds like her day was similar to mine, sorry...maybe if you come up for a visit we could just lock the kids in a padded room and go shopping while we pay a babysitter to watch them for a whole day. I would have payed a lot of money to have Daniel be watched by a babysitter today!!! I can't complain too much because I think the little bugger is asleep and it is only 7 o'clock...maybe i just jinxed myself. The problem was mostly me, I was so cranky today that my fuze was 2in long, I've promised to be better tomorrow. Thank goodness Mark volunteered to do the dishes tonight!

Ice Fishin and 4-wheelin

These are pictures from Mark and Daniel's ice-fishing trip they went on with my uncle and cousin. The other boy on the 4wheeler with Daniel is my cousin, David. They had so much fun and they caught 30 fish!!! They went out again yesterday with one of Mark's work buddies and his boy, but I don't have any pictures of that.

Winter Pictures

So this is our house, I don't think I have put a picture of it up yet so there you go...and then there is Daniel and I at the Church History Museum, Daniel and his cousin Lexi, Mark snowmobiling with the guys from work and Daniel shooting the Deer we see on the side of the road with his realistic rifle (don't worry folks we won't be getting him a real one for a real long time!).

Daniel's Birthday!!!

We had a blast at the gymnastics playing and opening gifts, now Daniel sings "Happy Birthday" to himself every day. He got a lot of gifts, including... a nerf gun (Justin and Courtney), playdough (Clews Family), Trucks (Gramy and Grandad), golf clubs-spiderman backpack-Cars movie (Ash and Daddy), and my parents are giving him another truck that we will get this weekend. Over all it was tons of fun and Daniel loved his cake from Dairy Queen that had a deer on it.

First Post of the Year

So we are back in town from being in Salt Lake for Christmas and Island Park for New Years. I have some pictures I will have to post but I need to get some from my family first. We did have a lot of fun and Daniel got a lot of fun new toys, but he got sick last week while we were at the cabin and is just now feeling a little better. A double ear infection will do that to ya! Now we are back to our normal life but are feeling the loss of all the money we spent on Christmas stuff, my surgery and Dan's doctor bills. Also this week is Dan's birthday, Jan. 31 is mine and Mark's is Feb. 17 so we don't have too much relief in sight. Happy New Year to everyone and I hope your resolutions work out for you and that this year is better than last.
